Hike among the “hummocks”, huge pieces of Mount St. Helens that slid off and were part of the massive 1980 landslide. The north flank collapsed and slid away, slamming into a ridge that diverted it west into the Toutle River Valley for 14 miles. This new landscape, initially barren, now teems with life.
