This trail has a classic river trail profile. It starts steep and technical, gradually rolling out to much more open flowy trail. There are some hike-a-bike sections through the middle. This trail is well signed, but there are a few jogs on gravel roads where you’ll have to look for the turns.
You’ll see all sorts of different environs along this ride: high country old-growth, recently burned areas, to lush green, to oak savannah. You’ll also encounter other trail users like hikers, trail runners, and equestrian riders.
It’s possible to ride this trail in sections, each of them range from 5-8 miles, however it is best ridden as an all-day point-to-point ride. Park or get shuttled to the top, and have a vehicle waiting for you at the bottom.
