War Creek Trail #408 within Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness. Trail enteres Lake Chelan National Recreation Area. The trail travels through a forested area which becomes thinner as you travel up the trail. This trail is a historic route that follows War Creek to a high pass that leads into the North Cascades Park Recreation area. A North Cascades National Park backcounty permit is required to camp in the recreation area. The trail has a wonderful view of the Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Mountain range from the pass.
