A great spot to crawl, wade, and/or soak (when the water is up). The terrain is a gneiss change from the limestone found elsewhere in the hill country (see what I did there?), and is easily accessible from FM 3404 (aka Slab Rd). It’s free to access all day, every day (just acknowledge no trespassing and private property signs bordering the area), but parking is on first come basis. Go further up the river for more solitude and additional crawling options.
